Webflow and Backlinks

Backlinks are a great way to build up an audience and add more clients to your business. There are plenty of ways to do this, such as blogs, podcasts, affiliate websites and organic websites.

#1 Featuring on Blogs

Featuring blogs that are run by others are a great way to build up your connections in your niche and target your ideal customer by posting items and blogs about your niche.

How to do it

Do:

  • Featuring on blogs that are relevant to your niche
  • Posting high-quality content while expecting nothing in return
  • Building up a connection and relationship with the platforms that are featuring you

Don't:

  • Randomly posting on any blog that will accept your proposal
  • Not providing any value and expecting leads by just posting

#2 Featuring on Podcast

Similar to feature on a blog, getting featured on a podcast is the same thing just in audio format. To do this you must already have some understanding and proven success in your industry.

How to do it

Do:

  • Reach out to podcasts that you enjoy and wouldn't mind being featured on
  • Building an audience is a must before you start on this one. That way you can drive traffic
  • Have something interesting to say

Don't:

  • Not providing anything to host or the audience that isn't already readily available
  • Just hopping on any podcast that isn't even related to your niche
  • Doing it in the mind frame that you're going to get leads from it.

#3 Affiliate websites

This one is a bit more complex and takes some time to build up. This requires you to give commission to     others once you sign a lead that they have provided you.

How to do it

Do:

  • Not coming across as spammy and make sure that you control your affiliate marketers so that your name isn't considered to be spam
  • Building up a highly respected network of affiliate marketers.

Don't:

  • Just sending anyone and every one an email or LinkedIn connection request in the hopes of having a high number of soft leads
  • Spammy content
  • Not targeting your niche

#3 Product launches

This is my favourite as it doesn't take too much time and it allows you to add something to your portfolio while giving you a digital asset that will give you contact traffic and leads to your website.

How to do it

Do:

  • Building high fidelity and quality websites that you would use in your day to day life.
  • Launching on respected platforms like ProductHunt and HackerNews
  • Putting a built by CTA on your website

Don't:

  • Just randomly spamming out websites that not many people will use
  • Building websites that don't truly showcase your skills
  • Taking feedback as a dig at you and your work rather than approaching it with an open mind
